How To Exit Frozen App On Macsunnew

Seizing and Freezing

iPads rarely freeze up. But occasional malfunctions or misbehaving apps can render your iPad catatonic. Here are three methods to get things going again. Try them in this order.

1. Force quit the app. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button down until you see the red “power-off“ slider—but don’t slide this time. Instead, try pressing and holding the Home button for about six seconds, then release. This should end the offending app and take you back to the Home screen.

How to quit frozen app on mac
  1. If you cannot force-quit an app, or if macOS is completely unresponsive, follow these steps in order to reboot your Mac Click on the Apple menu at the top left of the screen, then select Restart.
  2. If you encounter an unresponsive app on your Mac, you have four methods at your disposal to close it using Force Quit. For an app whose icon you have parked in the Dock, you can right-click.
  3. Hit and hold Command+Option+Escape on your keyboard so as to bring up a “Force Quit Applications” window, Select the frozen program or app name in the dialog box. Click the “Force Quit” button, and then this program or application will be shut down immediately.
  4. While most of the apps in iOS, whether for the iPhone or iPad, are pretty stable and work every time, some occasionally die and quit or, worse, get “stuck” doing something and end up frozen, seeming forcing you to restart your device to get it to work again.

2. Restart the iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Use the slider to turn the iPad off. Pause a few moments while your iPad shuts down, then hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears. When you see the Apple logo, release the Sleep/Wake button.

You can then select the frozen application and stop it by clicking Force quit. Furthermore, you do not need to re-open the window if you wish to close another application - this window essentially works like a small part of the Activity Monitor app with the close function only. Accessing the Force Quit menu returns Macs to responsive states.

3. Reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button until the screen goes blank. Be patient as the Apple logo appears and your iPad comes back to life.
