- Climate is critical because it determines the types of plants and animals—the ecosystem—that can survive in a biome. Polar bears can’t live in the Sahara Desert. Rain forest trees won’t grow in grasslands or the arctic tundra.

- Biome Research project Building upon the success of the Egypt Research Project and to further hone their presentation skills, students have each selected a biome to research in December. Using print and internet sources, students will learn as much as they can about their particular topic, answering the questions in the project requirements.

Learners view a PowerPoint presentation on biomes and their classifications. Divide them into groups and assign them each an individual biome to research. There are pictures of the PowerPoint slides and notes about what to teach for each, but a direct link to the presentation is not provided.
