  • Beyond the Post (graphic) design type, Spark also provides two other project types: Pages and Videos (available as separate apps on iOS). With Pages, you can build a simple, sleek web page that you can then share via a direct link. Videos is just what it sounds like: a basic video editing app that works as smoothly as Spark's graphic design tool.
  • The Concepts vector sketching app seeks to serve everyone from the casual drawer to the product design professional. With a distinctive circle of controls in the corner of the screen, you have fast access to brushes, layers, and precision alignment aids. The free version includes access to 16 brushes and five layers.

How to make an infographic in minutes

  1. Select a size for your infographic

Start the design process by selecting a size and layout for your infographic. Adobe Spark Post gives you dozens to choose from. “Portrait,” “Tall,” and “Poster” are particularly suited to infographics.

  2. Choose illustrative and eye-catching icons

Good infographics have eye-catching and descriptive icons to engage and inform your audience. Adobe Spark has hundreds of icons to choose from; all of which can be resized and filled with color.

  3. Add some impactful images

Give your infographic its own identity by adding some photos. Import images from your device or choose from Adobe Spark’s library of images.

  4. Choose a font and add some informative text

Give your infographic some “info” by adding text. You can then resize and relocate the text or make changes to its font, color, opacity, and background.

  5. Share or download your infographic

Once you’re finished with your infographic, you can download it to your device or share it online. Adobe Spark makes it easy to download in a format that works for you or share with the right audience.

5 Great Graphic Design Apps

Let’s start with the best cross-platform vector editor – Inkscape. This is a free open-source program with an amazing set of features. Inkscape is used by many professional designers and is a full-fledged desktop vector editor available for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS.

More and more people are getting involved with Graphic Design. It is becoming more and more accessible; whether it’s a free program like Expression Design, or Adobe Creative Suite. Tools to make great graphics are very accessible. Mobile apps are great tools, and there are some really great apps for Graphic Design. Some apps are just reference tools, and others are powerful programs that can make legitimate graphics. Here are 5 of the best Graphic Design apps for iOS!

1. Phoster

If you have been on this blog much, you know, I love posters. I’m usually into gig posters, but any decent looking poster can attract my interest. This app makes it incredibly easy to make great looking posters very quickly. Phoster is a great tool. Need to promote an event that is happening tomorrow night while away from your computer? Grab your iPad (or any iOS device) and in 5-10 minutes you could have a great looking poster ready to share. I made the image for this post with Phoster and it only took a couple minutes!

2. WhatTheFont

WhatTheFont is a great app for identifying fonts. All you have to do is take a picture of the font you want to identify, draw a box around the words, check to make sure the app got everything right, and that’s it! The app checks it against the MyFonts database and gives you a list of the possible matches. I’ve tried it out a couple times and it’s very accurate!

3. ColorSchemer

This is a pretty cool and useful app. It’s full of great pre-made color palettes, and it has great tools for making your own. Once you make a palette, it gives you hex and RGB color codes. The RGB is great for people who work with stage lighting because the standard color mixing is RGB. More than just a Graphic Design app!

4. Design Tools

Design tools is a clean and useful reference app for designers. It is full of great stuff. Need to know the size of an A4 sheet of paper for your new project? Just open up Design Tools and everything you need is in your hands!

5. Palettes

Palettes is a very useful app. It is similar to ColorSchemer, but it lacks the sleek interface and the COLOURlovers integration. It may not be the best looking app, but it makes up for it with Palettes powerful iPad app. Access everything you need on one screen!

I love these apps, and I hope you get as much use out of them as I have! I plan on writing more in-depth reviews of each of these apps, so check back to find out more!
